Meet Our Therapists

Alison Seltzer
Licensed Counselor
Alison J. Seltzer, LPC, graduated from West Chester University with a bachelor’s degree in Theater and Speech Communications. She later graduated from Capella University with a master’s degree in psychology with specializations in Clinical and Counseling Psychology. She became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Alison has worked in the field of psychology for approximately 18 years. Recently, she created, owns, and operates Alison J. Seltzer LPC LLC, doing business as InnerPeaceCounseling in Altoona, PA.
Alison treats children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. She works with children two years old and older into the aged using the Internal Family Systems model (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), as well as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Behavior Therapy (BT), Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, and psychoeducation.

Alicia Joy Anderson
M.A., LAPC, NCC, CTP
Alicia Joy Anderson, M.A., LAPC, NCC, CTP holds a master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling. She works with children (age 4+), teens, and adults. She is a positive, energetic, and person-centered therapist who incorporates humor and a friendly approach to help clients build trust and foster resilience. She believes that the client is the expert of their own life and collaboratively partners with them to achieve their goals. Her trauma-informed, integrative approach includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), principles from internal family systems (IFS), and mindfulness.

Lauren Johnson
Office Manager
As our office manager, Lauren Johnson brings a strong foundation in mental health care, supported by her associate degree in human services. This educational background equips her with the knowledge necessary to understand and respond thoughtfully to the unique needs of our clients.
Known for her compassion and supportive nature, she fosters a welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors. Her attentive approach ensures that clients feel valued and understood from the moment they engage with our practice.
Beyond her client interactions, Lauren plays a vital role in maintaining the smooth day-to-day operations of our office. Her organizational skills and dedication to efficient management help keep our team focused and our services running seamlessly.
We consider her a true asset to our practice, combining empathy with professionalism to enhance both the client experience and the work environment.
